Well they hardly ever team up unless neccecary, wich means they solo almost everything, only looking for another person when the quest is to hard.

The only time youl end up in a full group in WoW is when you go into an instance, wich can take a while and with the right players it can be quite fun, at lvl 70 that will be about all you do.

If you dont mind getting stuck in an instance for 1-5 hours or higher then WoW just might be for you.

Guild Wars however, is definetly a single player game now.

If you hadnt used the word "demand", and you had said "asked", I would completely agree with you.

The problem with joining PUGs is people "demand" you do this, and that. Its that sheer lack of manors and politeness which causes the issues.

Why do you need to "demand" something?

Are you not capable of politely asking someone what their skills are and politely suggesting they change them and explaining why.

If you took the time to actual be a real leader, and instructed and educated people as to why they need to change skills, they would accept it.

But if you bark orders at someone their not going to respond nicely. They get defensive and ignore you. Then you ultimately kick them within 2 seconds because they refuse..

It doesnt cost anything to be polite and speak to people with respect.

There is nothing wrong with asking team members to change skills, or builds, provided you ask nicely.

You also have to accept that players may never have used that build before, or may not have those skills. If they dont have them or they dont know how to use the build, then you have to compromise and not just kick them.

Do you understand?

But the fact is (and you cant deny this), you dont need specialised teams for 90% of GuildWars. The only areas you need a the "perfect party" is inside elite areas, or certain missions (which are very few).

The other 90% you can quite easily complete, using any old build and combination and party. Aslong as you have 2 monks, a tank, a dmg dealer and what ever else, you can complete most quests and missions.

I laugh at people, when I join a party in an early section of a campaign, and the leader spends 30 minutes going "right, everyone use the builds I say" or "we need this profession because it cant be done with it".

You know fine well, that it makes no difference and the leader is just trying to be controlling. But most times, I just go along with it because I want the mission done.

Thumbs down Solo Nerf

Dear Anet, you have destroyed the guild wars dream. Where any player could have their character grow up and be strong and with effort and practice be able to get somewhere in the game. To be finally able to afford other than mediocre weapons. People like different things. If you don't like to solo thats fine, your choice is respected. If you don't ever want to learn to solo, thats cool too. But there are people who do or rather did like to do it. Cus it gave them a buzz. It gave me a buzz whenever i got a good drop. It made me really like the game.

Now its like some sort of communist country where everybody gets the same wages. Where dreams are discouraged and we should all be wearing the same drab uniforms. You did not take away AFC, you've implemented it uniformly throughout the entire game, on everyone, even on the struggling newb that has 340g in his storage. The hope that one day his level of game play wud reach a point where it would no longer be a struggle is gone. It will always be a struggle.

Please reverse ur update. Its ruining the game.

True, and it is similarly our right to try avoid people like that with crappy skill bars.

It all boils down to risk. There is considerable risk when you PUG, risk of lousy abusive players, etc. There is less risk when you hang with friends. Heroes help me avoid PUGs, thus they are an extremely positive addition.

EDIT:

I PUG, but only when I don't actually need the objective. Then if we fail it doesn't matter to me. This seems to be the best way to enjoy PUGing.

what really destroy PUG is player. many ppl just sucks and rude.
for example, FoW is the easiest "elite" area that you cannot hench it
I am a PvE Sin.
first people don't want me regardless my capability. I always have to make group. (I have many PUG monks said they don't heal me much in FoW and I kill well)
second, I am the group leader and I know the place well just like my bedroom but people don't listen even though they know they are new (few time entries)
third many people are week, wrong build and no tatical mind
fourth ppl quit easily, rage quit in 1 death
five people talk too much shit and not having a constructive conversation (calling other noob or equivalant word)

NCsoft is to blame for lack of training before sending player to harder area in faction and NF. noob content in these campaign does not prepare people to be ready to fight in lvl20+ area. in Prophecy, most of the content are done before lvl 20 is really needed. but in faction once you leave noob island which is short period of time, you are instantly facing lvl 20 that explode. people are not trained before facign these foe

in NF, rely on hero making people stop fighting with their own hand. in fact the hero and hench team don't need the player. so player isn't training for combat.

that is my 2cent. hope not angry anyone

Hard mode ? who will want a Sin in hard mode ? and hardmode don't train the weaker to be strong because people who aren't already capable will stick in normal modeand they don't want to learn anyway.

blame the player (I know I sucks but I learns, many dont)
